___________________________________________

The Recycled Organics Unit (ROU) and Compost Australia are offering a one day practical training program for compost producers on the fundamental knowledge and practical management of compost production. If you are establishing or operating a compost production process this training program directly targets your needs.

Process control, or management of the critical control points in the compost production cycle is the basis of a successful composting operation. Process control and the assessment of your compost for conformance with specifications prior to release into inventory and for sale to customers enables the consistent production of composts that meet your requirements, time after time. This is the focus of the course.

The systems taught offer the simplest and most time efficient methods for managing compost production, and the documented procedures and know how can be directly applied or readily adapted to your site.

Course participants can access ongoing assistance from the trainer to support implementation at your facility when you are applying skills and knowledge from the course in your business.

The Trainer
Angus Campbell is the Director of the Recycled Organics Unit. Angus has 19 years experience in research and development, technical consulting, and training in this field for government, private and community sector clients. ROU handbooks and publications on compost and its many uses are used by the industry across Australian and internationally, and are now widely used for programs in developing countries. The ROU also manages the Recycled Organics Library, an on-line catalogue of information resources relevant to the Recycled Organics industry. Angus is the primary author of the national training package for commercial composting. In addition, Angus operates a composting facility that processes food waste and vegetation via an in-vessel composting and aerated windrow system. This facility is also used for training and applied R&D.
