Kim Morris is the AIH National President and a passionate member since 1993 specialising in tropical horticulture and landscapes. Originally from Sydney, it was love at first sight with the tropics after a short holiday and he has made it his home.
His company Kim Morris & Associates Pty Ltd (www.kimmorris.com.au) has been operating in Cairns now for 25 years.
He is also an owner/director of the widely acclaimed Garden City Design Co. that has recently completed the design and project management of the 34ha.
Sino Australian Friendship Garden in Zhanjiang, People's Republic of China. The largest Australian garden overseas in the world.
Other projects have included hydroponic food production in remote indigenous communities, as a member of the Australian team developing the Landscape Industry Work Skills Qualification (WSQ) project for the Singapore Government, a six year stint advising the Australian Government (AQIS) on the development of horticultural exports and Deputy Chair CLIC (Cairns Landscape Industries Council).
He is currently negotiating provincial landscape training programs in China.
Kim a well known garden journalist in national magazines that include Burke's Backyard, Your Home, Sub Tropical Gardening and is the resident garden columnist for The Cairns Post newspaper.
And if this is not enough , he is currently writing two garden and gardener related books which will be published soon.
