The ‘one off’ special award 'The Golden Wattle' to mark the 50th Anniversary of the AIH attracted five exceptional nominations. The award was won by Don Burke OAM FAIH. Don addressed the gathering with an overview of his consistent involvement with AIH and his work in the past to the present, highlighting his work with government on chemicals and weed policies in particular. He paid homage to his fellow Institute colleagues in particular Pamel Polglase who Mr Burke said was equally with others, entitled to share the award.
The Australian Institute of Horticulture supports ISHS, AusHS and NZIHS.
