AIH Webinar: Soil Mixes Today In An Ever Changing World

July 10 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Live Webinar Friday 10th July 2020 8.30am – 10.00am

Our expert panel will provide the latest information on the following important professional horticultural questions.

  1. What are the right lightweight soil mixes for green walls both in commercial and domestic use giving some examples (including but not limited to taking into account longevity of the mix, drainage, and water and nutrient holding attributes.)
  2. Soil mixes for our planter boxes and balcony and inner-city balcony uses. What are the dangers of using the wrong type of mix. eg. A and B horizons.
  3. Lighter better draining lawn and garden mixes for our ever-smaller medium density yards.
  4. Correct methods for installing subsurface drainage. This could give specific consideration to specific materials, size of peds in sands and gravels and the use of geotextiles etc.
  5. Can we rely on major suppliers having appropriate technical support personnel and advice on more complex specifications?
  6. Discussion on relevant up to date soil mixes for nursery use . Also what is the possibility of Nurseries using specific soil mixes that could give more drought tolerance and toughness to newly planted out stock in difficult areas?
