Taxonomy is the science of plant identification. There is a system to classifying plants and giving them scientific names. The more you can understand the system, the easier it becomes to identify plants. For anyone working with plants, this workshop is an opportunity to explore the subject of taxonomy, and irrespective of what your current level of knowledge is. Strengthen your understanding of taxonomy, update on some of the changes over recent years, explore some resources you may not have encountered before, network with other horticulturists who may help you with plant identification. Come and visit this unique garden with many rare and special plants for both inner city and suburban use. David also has a wonderful nursery which he is happy to take us through. A wholistic look at the new AS2303 Standard and Planning, Species, Provision, Stock, Planting, Establishment and Maintenance, Education and Communication. Lunch will be provided. Speakers: Ross Clarke from Trees Impact and Stuart Pittendrigh, FAIH RH. Ross runs a very successful tree nursery. (TREES IMPACT) on the central coast of NSW. He is well known and been involved in the industry for over 25 years. Ross was one of the pioneers of nursery production of big Australian native spp and is a highly respected expert in this field. Stuart is a highly respected landscape architect and consulting arborist. Stuart is the consulting Horticulturist at Barangaroo and also many other major development sites over Sydney including the North West Rail Link. Stewart has a wealth of knowledge of Trees and their impact on our environment. CPD Points Available: 3.
